Usman Idrees Salahuddin is a first generation Pakistani American drummer based out of New York City. He has toured and performed with various artists in the New York city jazz scene (Roy Hargrove, Harold Mabern, Spike Wilner, Yotam Silberstein, Duane Eubanks, Yotam Silberstein, Saul Rubin, Takuya Kurada, Stacy Dillard, Willerm Delisfort). In 2014 he performed as a Fulbright Scholar for Burkina Faso's annual jazz festival, Jazz-A-Ouaga. In 2014 he began accompanying modern and ballet dance classes at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. It is while accompanying dance classes that Usman began to explore and develop composition, arranging, and song writing.
He released his first record (Dreamcolors) in 2017 which features his own compositions as well as jazz standards by John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, and Stevie Wonder. Today he performs and records around the New York City metro region. He also teaches music privately (zoom/skype/in person).
